Summit Mount Snowdon! (Yr Wyddfa)

Time to get out there and try something different? Perhaps something you have always wanted to do is to climb a mountain? Are you planning a charity walk? Challenge yourself (and perhaps your family, friends or colleagues too) secure in the knowledge that you will be with a qualified mountain guide. Join one of our guided walks to summit Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales, 3560 feet (1085 metres) high.

Whether you are an individual interested in walking up Snowdon but would prefer not to go it alone, or you are a small group of up to 6 people, our guides can take you on a guided walk via the path of your choice or perhaps one that is more challenging and less crowded (weather permitting).

All our guides are fully qualified mountain leaders with first aid certification and personal indemnity insurance. With the exception of a one-to-one guide, each guided walk will be for a maximum of 6 people per guide (we can take larger groups by arrangement) and is subject to weather conditions on the day. Your guide will assess the weather conditions on the day and if necessary, for the safety of everyone, may have to opt for an alternative lower level route.

On confirmation of your booking you will be sent a medical form and kit list which includes "must haves" which are marked clearly on the list. Each member of the group needs to ensure they have all the "must haves" and your guide will run through a kit check before starting your walk. The medical form has to be completed by each member of the group and returned to us before the date of your walk.

Our aim is to assist you in every possible way to enable you to successfully summit Snowdon and to have an enjoyable and memorable experience. Guests staying with us at Glyn Peris who complete their challenge will receive a full colour A4 certificate with a stunning photograph of the Snowdon Horseshoe (which was taken from above the summit at 4,500ft) to mark the event.

Join a small group of up to 6 people for a guided walk with a qualified mountain leader, to summit Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales.

South Ridge

You will reach the summit via the South Ridge and descend back down along the South Ridge*. This route is generally quieter than the more popular paths but we must point out it is a moderate+ route with some exposure to height and the need to use your hands to help you climb in some spots. It has stunning views of Snowdon and out towards Port Madoc and the Llyn Peninsula.

Pyg Track

You will reach the summit via the Pyg Track and descend back down along the Miners Track. This route starts and finishes at Pen y Pass car park. It is a moderate route with some areas where off path you will be on scree. This is the most popular route to summit Snowdon.

Walkers will meet at the designated car park and must be there on time (usually 9.30am.)

We ask for full payment in advance, within seven days of booking. We will email/post you a receipt to confirm your place, along with a medical form and kit list.

Pack lunches @ £4.50 each are available, and must be ordered on the day of booking or by 4.30pm on the afternoon before the walk.

Residents of Glyn Peris will receive a certificate to commemorate their achievement. (Certificates are also available to non residents for a small charge.) There is a free flask-filling service for our guests.

* Your guide will be assessing the group's ability throughout the walk and we would like to point out that after summitting Mount Snowdon, your guide may feel it necessary to bring you down an alternative route. This would only be done if a member of the group was struggling or unwell. Keeping the group together and safe is your guide's first priority. In this case, a bus or cab fare may be incurred for you to return to your vehicle.
